Beautiful, free-flowing ink with an antique look

5 / 5 Beautiful, free-flowing ink with an antique look I love this ink. I've used it for several months, writing a couple of pages daily with a Lamy Al-Star. The colour's unusual — I've seen it often compared to used motor oil, but I think 'licorice' is at least as accurate. On the page, it looks like the sort of writing you'd find in your grandfather's diary from WWII. It's free-flowing, to the extent that I prefer using a fine nib (with most other inks I'd use a medium). When fully dry it's waterproof, and apparently it fluoresces under UV light, although I haven't tested that and I imagine its only practical use might be to prove a piece of writing is yours.
I don't look after my pens as well as I should, but so far I've never had any problems with this ink. It starts immediately, without fail, but, as I've said, I use this pen (and another Al-Star with a medium nib, also filled with El Lawrence) every day.
I don't know why it's so much more expensive than other Noodler's inks, but it's still good value compared to many other inks.
