Graf Von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year 2015 Gold Rollerball PenThe pen is inspired by the New Palace of Sanssouci. When the Seven Years War ended, Frederick the Great kick started the construction of the ambitious structure, to celebrate Prussia’s success. Considered to be the last great baroque palace in Prussia, Frederick the Great himself traveled to Silesia to pick the green serpentine that has been used in decorating the new palace. Located on the western side of the Sanssouci royal park in Potsdam, the palace flaunts designs and decoration that were a direct influence of the maker himself. Hence, the style is also called “Frederician Rococo”. The style and deco of this palace is vividly seen in the GVFC Pen of the Year 2015. Inspired by the New Palace of Sanssouci, the pen features the iconic emerald and apple green color that the green serpentine boasts.
