The cap is shaped like a boxing sack with a guilloche lacquering including hand-engraved solid Au750 gold inlays resembling a boxing glove and a peace dove. The forepart bears engravings of Ali’s six core principles. In honor of his 3rd world title of his boxing career, the Montblanc emblem on the cap is adorned with the number 3 cast from solid Au750 gold. Muhammad Ali’s victory pose is engraved alongside the inscription “TKO-W-7 (15)” (Technical Knockout in the 7th (of 15) rounds) on the gold-coated cap ring.
The victory belt Muhammad Ali wore with pride inspired the design of the skeletonized clip, which is inscribed with “ALI”. The barrel is inspired by “The Muhammad Ali Center” in Louisville, Kentucky, and reflects the colored windows of the building.
The cone is made from solid Au750 gold with special engraving and lacquer inlays and bears the inscription of “NEW ORLEANS 1978 NEW YORK 1998”- referring to important dates: the win of his third World Championship Title as well as the year when became a United Nations Messenger of Peace.
