Noodler's inks are known for their affordability, wide range of colors, and good performance on more absorbent papers that are not normally fountain pen friendly. Noodler’s inks are handcrafted, so there may be slight color variations from batch to batch.
When I asked my husband to order Noodlers Navy, I had no idea that he was ordering my all time favorite Noodlers ink. I absolutely loved this ink from the very minute I put it in my pen and started writing with it. In order to test the ink, I have been using my Sheaffer Targa with an extra-fine nib, which is the pen I normally use for writing. The first thing Ive noticed is how beautifully the ink has been behaving. Even though I didnt use any special fountain pen paper, just regular notes paper, the ink did not feather AT ALL and let the pen maintain a consistently smooth and even extra-fine line all the time I was writing (which havent been the case with Noodlers X-feather ink, so I certainly did not expect Noodlers Navy to be any better). The second positive feature of this ink is that it dries very fast and leaves no chance for smearing. It dries in about 1-2 seconds after being put on paper, which is a blessing! And finally, I am absolutely in love with the color of this ink, which to me looks more like a pleasant and mellow teal blue rather than navy. From now on, this is my favorite Noodlers ink and its not leaving my desk or my pens cartridge.
