About  Sailor Pens

Originating from the vibrant culture of Japan, Sailor pens have been winning over fountain pen enthusiasts for more than a century. Founded in 1919 by Kyugoro Sakata, an engineer inspired by a gift from a British sailor, the brand “Sailor” was born as a nod to that pivotal moment. Today, Sailor pens are celebrated worldwide for their impeccable craftsmanship, combining tradition and innovation to create truly exceptional writing instruments.

The Craftsmanship Behind Sailor Nibs

What truly sets Sailor pens apart is their renowned nibs, which have been perfected over decades by the skilled Nagahara family. Starting with Noboyushi Nagahara and continuing with his son Yukio, Sailor nibs have become a benchmark of quality in the fountain pen world. Known for their smoothness and precision, these nibs are crafted with secrets passed down through generations, making every Sailor pen a special piece of artistry.

Stunning Designs That Suit Every Style

While Sailor’s nibs are legendary, the pens themselves are equally impressive. Sailor offers a wide range of designs—from timeless, elegant classics to bold, vibrant styles that stand out. Paired with their expertly formulated inks, these pens deliver a writing experience that’s smooth, colorful, and a joy to use. Whether you’re drafting letters, journaling, or sketching, Sailor pens turn writing into an art form.
