Otto Hutt – History and HeritageSince the early 18th century, jewelry, watches and other precious accessories, mainly in gold and silver, have been produced in Pforzheim, Germany. The town is known locally as the gateway to the Black Forest for small manufacturing companies. The city has rightly been awarded the accolade “Gold City”. Today, about 80% of all jewelry exported from Germany still comes from Pforzheim.In Pforzheim, in 1920, a visionary man established a company specializing in pocket utensils and fine writing instruments in sterling silver. His name was Otto Hutt. He applied by the design concept of the unique Bauhaus School -- simple form given over entirely to function.
