Return Policy

We strive for 100% customer satisfaction. When you shop at Pen Boutique, we want to do everything we can to meet your needs and provide a wonderful shopping experience.


Return Policy

You may submit a return or exchange request up to 45 days from the date of delivery, please contact us at to start your return and or exchange. When returning an item, please enclose a copy of your invoice, the RMA# provided after contacting customer service, and include all original packaging and literature.

Once we receive your return, our turnaround time is normally within 5-7 business days for refunds and or exchanges. For items that are damaged or defective, this process could take longer depending on what the issue may be, but we will keep you updated throughout the process.

If you receive a defective or damaged item, please contact us and we’ll provide you with a return label.

Items being returned due to a preference are not eligible for a return shipping label, or a refund for the cost of shipping on the shipment to you or returned back to us. Preference based returns mean you are returning an item because you do not like something about it due to a personal preference, and the item is not actually damaged or defective. Examples of a preference based return may include, but are not limited to: disliking the nib size, disliking the pattern and or color, disliking the weight or shape of the pen, etc.

An item being returned due to ordering the incorrect item, unless it's a result from an error on being given the wrong information from a sales associate or our website, are also not eligible for a return label or a refund for the shipping cost on the shipment to you or for the return. 

Please note: We can only issue refunds in USD, and can not adjust the value of a return based on changes in exchange rates. 

Fountain Pen Return Policy

When purchasing a fountain pen, please keep in mind our policies for them if you would like to return your purchase. We ask that before filling up your fountain pen, to dip your nib in ink first to test it. Once the pen has been filled with ink, and or the cartridges it may come with have been used, we do charge a 20% restocking fee. In cases of damage or defects, unless caused by the costumer, we do not charge the restocking fee. 

Please note: Limited Edition fountain pens are considered inked if they’ve been dipped; and the eligibility of these pens for returns and or exchanges, as well as the restocking fee, will depend on the pen. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Return Exclusions:

We do not accept returns of:

  • Special Orders

  • Engraved Items

  • Corporate Orders

  • Limited Editions, where a factory seal on the packaging has been broken by the customer.

  • Gift Cards
  • A new and undamaged product where the damaged was caused by the customer.

  • An item that has been altered by the customer, either to customize it or to repair it. Please contact us first if you receive a damaged or defective item, and do not try to repair it yourself. This will void warranties. 
  • Opened ink bottles, cartridges, or refills. Please contact customer service without opening the package in case you ordered a wrong item or no longer want the item that you ordered.

Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)

All returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. To obtain an RMA number please call our customer service line at (410)-992-3272 or email us with the “contact us” form found at the bottom of the site. In your email to us for a return, please include your order number. If you contact us by phone, please have your order number ready. 

If an item is returned to us without a prior authorization, there will be a 20% restocking fee, assuming the item has no damage. If the item is damaged, there will be no refund. RMA numbers are valid for 15 days, and if the item is not received within the 15 days, another RMA need to be issued.


How To Prepare A Return:
To return an item purchased from Pen Boutique, please follow these guidelines:

  1. Get Your Return Authorization Code. Call (410)-992-3272 or email us using the contact form and you will be given a Return Authorization Code. Please write down this RMA number on the label as shown below. Without an RMA number we cannot process the return sent to our return processing address.

  2. Package Your Return. Please package your return carefully and address it as shows below. For security reasons, please do not write anything on the outside of the package that would identify the contents, such as “Montblanc” or “Visconti”.

  3. Insure Your Package: When you are returning a high value item or package, please make sure that you insure it for the appropriate value so that in any case it may get lost or damaged, the item will be covered. Generally, we recommend insurance for returns valued above $100.

Upon receiving the return, the processing of returns will be done in batches. Please allow 4-10 days for the return to be processed. The appropriate credits or exchanges will be processed and provided accordingly. 

Please note: You may return your item(s) through USPS, FedEx, and or UPS.
