45-Day Return Policy
We accept returns up to 45 days from the date of delivery. When returning an item, please enclose a copy of your invoice and include all original packaging and literature. We will gladly give you a credit, exchange or refund, less shipping charges. If you receive a defective item, let us know and we’ll send you a shipping label to send it back to us. We can only issue refunds in USD, and can not adjust the value of a return based on changes in exchange rates.
Fountain Pen Return Policy
Fountain pens are a special case, as once a fountain pen has been filled, it’s much harder to sell. When you purchase a fountain pen, it's recommended that you test drive it by dipping the nib in ink and writing with it to check for any defects in the nib. If you return a pen after you use the cartridges supplied with it or fill it with ink, then in order for us to resell, we have to send it back to the manufacturer before we can resell it. We want to make sure that all of our customers receive brand-new, unused pens when they buy from us. Hence, we charge a restocking fee of 20% to accommodate the cost of shipping the pen to to and from the manufacturer and work done by the manufacturer. We then sell these pens in our outlet store. Please note that the restocking fee is only charged if the pen has been filled with ink. Limited Edition fountain pens are considered inked if they’ve been dipped, and the eligibility of these pens for returns and the restocking fee charged if they are returned will depend on the pen. Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)
All returns under Return Policy requires a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. To obtain an RMA number please call our customer service line at (410)-992-3272 or email us with the “contact us” form found at the bottom of the site. Please have your order number ready if you call or include it if you email.
If an item is returned to us without a prior authorization, there will be a 15% restocking fee, assuming the item has no damage. If the item is damaged, there will be no refund. Also, the item should be received within 15 days from when the RMA was issued. RMA numbers are valid for 15 days, and if the item is not received within the 15 days, another RMA will not be issued, and the item will no longer be eligible for return.
We cannot accept returns on
Limited Editions where a factory seal on the packaging has been broken by the customer
Where the product was new and undamaged and the damage was caused by the customer.
We will not accept returns of opened ink bottles, cartridges, or refills. Please contact customer service without opening the package in case you ordered a wrong item or no longer want the item that you ordered.
How To Prepare A Return:
To return an item purchased from Pen Boutique, please follow these guidelines:
Get Your Return Authorization Code. Call (410)-992-3272 or email us using the contact form and you will be given a Return Authorization Code. Please write down this RMA number on the label as shown below. Without an RMA number we cannot process the return sent to our return processing address.
Package Your Return. Please package your return carefully and address it in the way described below. For security reasons, please do not write anything on the outside of the package that would identify the contents, such as “Montblanc” or “Visconti”.
Insure Your Package: When you send expensive items, please make sure that you insure it for the appropriate value so that you can claim the value when it is lost. Generally, we recommend insurance for returns valued above $100.
