“Amethyste De L’Oural” (Ural Mountain Amethyst) is the first ink in the new Jacques Herbin 1798 Inks Collection. 1798 commemorates a special year in the history of Herbin, and a turning point in the history of France. “Amethyste” is a deep rich purple in the velvety hue of a rare gemstone. A silver mist provides a lustrous shimmering effect. “Amethyste De L’Oural” suggests the color of royalty. This ancient gemstone from the gates of Asia was prized for its calming, meditative and lucid dreaming qualities.

This is a wonderfully rich ink, purple, silver and a hint of gold shimmer. Very easy to use, not too wet, and dries decently quickly. The price form this website was also very competitive, being the lowest I could find for specialty J. Herbin inks, I will be purchasing again soon.
This ink is simply lovely, a quick shake and the shimmer is dispersed and ready to write or draw with. The price from this store is also very competitive, being the lowest I could find for this particular bottle. I will be purchasing more inks from this website soon!
Wow!!! Love this ink. It doesn't clog my feed of any of my pens that I have used it in. It flow nicely. It even comes in a nice bottle.
This is another great ink by J. Herbin. I use it in a Lamy Logo M nib. It comes out pretty dark, it almost looks black at times. I have yet to see any of the green shading, but the sparkle is there. I didn't love it as much as Emerald of Chivor, but it's still a pretty solid ink. I'm going to try it out in a different pen and see if I get different results, since Lamys tend to be extremely wet writers. It's worth the buy if you want some sparkle in your writing.
