It was the culmination of a glorious return, and the long-awaited return of Delta, Artigiani della Scrittura, celebrating this important 40 years anniversary of Delta pens. This issue’s cover pen, the Delta “39+1” fountain pen, contains within it the artistic and technical excellence that the pen community expects. A very original design that brings with it an innovation represented by an unprecedented weight balancing system, just patented under the name ‘Write Balance,’ designed to offer the user personalized comfort.

The new 39+1 collection is a limited edition of only 399 unique pieces, made of a rare mottled brown and black celluloid that is hand turned and highly polished, matched to gold-plated appointments with deeply curved grip section leading into gold-plated threading, with the gold-plated cap ring with elegant scrollwork and cap top beveling; 18 karat gold nib of the 39+1 with Delta logo engraving; the Write Balance blind cap features anniversary year engraving inspired by ancient Pompeiian design. Also, it features a removable weight threaded two-gram, gold-plated cone barrel. With the weight inserted into the cone, the fountain pen’s balance is toward the back end that offering the possibility of being able to choose the best personal balance according to one’s grip and writing characteristics.

Equipped with 18 karat gold nib that is a more rounded shape, helping to maintain a consistent flow from the feed to the iridium tip. Available in extra-fine, fine, medium, broad, or 1.1 mm stub; 14 karat gold flexible nibs in extra-fine and fine are also available.
