Elox derives from "eloxieren" which means "anodize" in German and was chosen to recognize the complexity of the double anodizing process, a unique and innovative technology being applied by Diplomat for the first time.
Inspired by bestselling Aero collection, Elox features that satisfying click of the cap enhances the experience of writing. Make a swoosh with a smooth #6 JoWo stainless steel nib, complimented by gunmetal gray trim, and easily refill the ink via standard international cartridge or converter.
Please note: The Aero pens are anodized. During the anodization process, the raw aluminum parts are placed on a metallic appliance. This is necessary to start the electrolytic process, which always needs a direct current to bring the color into/onto the Aluminium. During the anodizing process at this metallic appliance flows the direct current. The appliance makes it impossible to start the anodizing process at this part. So this leads to the metal-looking stripes inside the cap or barrel.
