Being a long term Lamy Al-star and Safari user, this was my first model besides those, I read about its designer Jasper Morrison and the pen's unique design qualities and wanted to check it out. It feels great in my hand (which is on the smallish size) the grip is rounded and smooth unlike the ergonomics of the Al-star & Safari. I think it's my new favorite. I have Akkerman #20 Pink in it, which isn't really a pink pink, works well with the Aion B nib...
The new Lamy Aion is all that I expected from a Lamy pen and more. Very reasonably priced with exceptional quality. Slimmer that most fountain pens writes silky smooth without blotting. The engraving by the folks at Pen Boutique came out great, this is a keepsake pen that I will cherish for years to come. Thank you!
I was looking at my next point and was looking at TWSBI initially and stumbled onto the Lamy Aion. With research comparing the two it began to grow on me and pre-ordered it. When it finally came I wasn't floored when opening it. It was very simple and no frills. Writing with it more and more it just keeps growing on me. Using De atramentis document turquoise, it's a pretty wet nib and writes considerably thicker than a japanese fine nib.
