The Ishime is a hand-lacquered fountain pen with a 18kt gold nib. The word “Ishime” roughly translates to “stone path”, referring to the design on the cap and barrel, which is hand-drawn into its wet lacquer. This Maki-e technique is called “Kawarinuri", meaning “unique painting”. Urushi, Japanese lacquer, is textured like stones on the Ishime's deep blue body. The Ishime comes in fine, medium, and broad.
