If you are looking to get started into the fountain pen hobby, this pen is a great starting point. You can’t beat the price or the reliability of the brand.
I enjoy using the Kakuno pen. I own 3 - all in medium nib. I do prefer a bit of a broader nib, but Kakuno makes up for that in a pleasant, smooth writing experience for a very affordable price. I find it a bit smoother and nicer than the Metropolitan.
I was really happy to get a demonstrator pen for this price, since a lot of them are pretty expensive. I like being able to see the ink through! Pilot pens are always a good buy, too. The nib is slightly scratchy on standard paper, but that's usually the case for fountain pens, and it writes well on my Rhodia pads.
This is a great pen to teach others about fountain pen. It is inexpensive and smooth. The only thing I do not like about this pen is that it requires special Carthage. Great value.
I purchased this pen because I like the price, choice of nibs and colors, and quality of Pilot pens. This is an addition to my fountain pen collection and it doesn't disappoint. While many other pens are more expensive and fancier, this pen writes smoothly, no skips and is inexpensive to refill. My only negative is the lack of a pocket clip.
