These are Sailor 1911 Large Naginata Togi nibs which could be purchased in-store only. But now we are able to offer it to you online!
Naginata-Togi in Japanese means the Japanese Long Sword, which is what this pen resembles. In comparison to the regular Sailor nib, the shoulders of the Naginata Togi are lower, providing more spring, bounce and wonderful ink flow. The tipping allows for a variable line width, a thin line can be written by holding the pen upright. A thicker line, by holding the pen at an angle.
The 21k Naginata-Togi nib is available in 3 nib sizes NMF, NM, NB ( N stands for Naginata Togi)
*We have tester pens available at our store (Columbia Maryland) so you may try out the different nib sizes. It takes 5-6 weeks for the pen to be customized and sent from Japan, if the pen is not in stock ( usually we keep in stock). This is a rare program that we are able to offer for our local store customers and now online also.
Pen Boutique is a Sailor Bespoke dealer. Naginata Togi pens are Final sales and cannot be returned/exchanged due to speciality of the nib.
Sailor has made a new design for their nibs. The pens which are produced from January 2022 onwards will have the new-design nib. The difference between the old nib and the new nib:
- New nib does not have '1911' engraved on it
- New design of the anchor
- New design of the "SAILOR" engraving below the anchor
- The 'H' letter (abbreviation of 'Hard') is removed from the nib size indicator on the left side of the new nib
Depending on the availability of our stock, you may receive the old Sailor nib design or the new Sailor nib.
