Breathtaking Pen by Sailor, the Kirikane Fountain Pen in Koufu finesse!

[Available Nib Sizes: EF-F-MF-M-B-Z-MS]

A piece of art history brought into the present. The intricate design of the newest Bespoke Pen by Sailor, the Kirikane Fountain Pen is introduced to Japan through Buddhism, is the ancient technique of cutting gold leaf into delicate strips and using brushes and glue to lay them down in elaborate patterns.

Interested collectors can now own a piece of this historically unique art form with a Sailor Kirikane Fountain Pen, each with a symbolic and meaningful design.

The Koufu, or red maple leaf, is a pattern representing change and success. The Asaba, or hemp leaf, symbolizes healthy growth and is often used to ward away evil. The Enami, or sea wave, honors the blessings of the oceans and is a symbol of future happiness and peace in life.

Each Kirikane Fountain Pen has a large 21K gold nib, gold-plated accents, and is packaged in a beautifully durable Japanese chestnut wood box.

Sailor has made a new design for their nibs. The pens which are produced from January 2022 onwards will have the new-design nib. The difference between the old nib and the new nib:

  1. New nib does not have '1911' engraved on it
  2. New design of the anchor
  3. New design of the "SAILOR" engraving below the anchor
  4. The 'H' letter (abbreviation of 'Hard') is removed from the nib size indicator on the left side of the new nib

Depending on the availability of our stock, you may receive the old Sailor nib design or the new Sailor nib.
